A review of The Anchor Inn by Tinker written on Thursday 23rd of June 2011
My daughter had booked this venue of a meal (my 70th Birth) on the 17th June. We got there at 7.30 and waited over an hour for the meal. The meal was very good but far too late in the evening for me personally. We then caught the eye of the waitress (for our Sweets - we didn't want to have to wait the same time again!!) They too were very nice, but not mine - overcooked Fruit Compote!! To top it all the Cash Card Machine was not working, so we had to all search about for money to pay the Bill - not a good ending for my celebration!! The manager actually suggested that I leave my Card!!! It was obviously overbooked - we couldn't move for people and that made it very warm. I don't feel inclined to go there again unless the place is less crowded and air conditioned. It had been highly recommended so it was a great let down for us..
